MetroKids is a pediatric rehabilitaion clinic providing physical and occupational therapy, as well as speech-language therapy to children from birth to 18 years.  Every child seen receives individual treatment with a trained therapist in a private and child-centered setting.

MetroKids is located across from Metroplex Adventist Hospital We specialize in pediatric physical therapy, pediatric occupational therapy and pediatric speech/language pathology. Our staff is very talented and our kids get special one-on-one care with their physical therapist, occupational therapist or speech/language pathologist.

Speech-Language Pathology

At MetroKids, our focus is to provide our pediatric patients with a functional means of communication through speech, signing or augmentative device.  Potential candidates are those who, as a result of illness, injury or
congenital abnormalities, have difficulties with:

  • Augmentative communication
  • Dysfluency
  • Articulation disorders
  • Language delay's and disorders
  • Swallowing and feeding disorders

Occupational Therapy

Using a child's natural ability and motivation to play, we create a challenging environment to assist the child to succeed in life's tasks.  Occupational therapy focuses special interest in:

  • Cognition
  • Sensory processing
  • Handwriting
  • Activities of daily living
  • Psychosocial skills
  • Fine, gross and visual motor coordination
  • Adaptive equipment/arm devices

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy at MetroKids includes training or retraining infants, children or adolescents to perform functionally and to restore mobility at the highest level possible.  Physical therapy is indicated for children
having difficulties with:

  • Balance and coordination
  • Weakness in the trunk or extremities
  • Motor planning/motor control
  • Tight or spastic muscles
  • Gross motor problems such as sitting and crawling
  • Adaptive equipment

Services are provided for children ages birth to 18 years with any developmental delay or challenges resulting from congenital birth disorder, traumatic injury or severe illness.  Treatment is modified to meet the needs of each patient based on age and developmental level.  Caregiver training is provided as an integral part of our program.

Our Facilities

MetroKids understands that children require a unique and stimulating environment.  Our facilities include child-sized therapeutic equipment and furniture, games, therapeutic tricycles, trampolines and swings in a bright and colorful setting.

Our Mission

We are a strong supporter of the Foundation Health Exceptional Family Member Program and work closely as a team with them. Our mission is to provide high-quality rehabilitation services in a friendly Christian environment to promote wellness of the body, mind and spirit in order to add quality of life. We are very involved with community events. Some highlights are the Metroplex KidFest Health & Safety Fair, Super Saturday Wheelchair Basketball Tournaments and KISD middle school scoliosis screens.
