The Sue Mayborn Women’s Center became a reality after several community members and Metroplex employees broke ground Friday, April 18, 2008. The new facility is set to open Summer 2009.
The new center, with Phase 1 recently completed, has been nearly 30 years in the making. Our goal is to meet the demands of rapid population growth in West Bell, Coryell and Lampasas counties by consolidating and coordinating women's health services into one convenient area while also improving patient comfort, aesthetics and work flow. In addition to inpatient services, the Women's Center will also promote wellness and prevention.
In July 2008, the U.S. Census Bureau listed Killeen as the second fastest growing city in the state
and the sixth fastest growing city in the nation. By 2020, Bell County’s population is predicted to grow by 54%. Metroplex must continue to grow to meet the increased healthcare needs for all women.
