We Are Here For You
The Pastoral Care Department at Metroplex Adventist Hospital believes that complete care includes attention to the spiritual, as well as the physical and emotional needs of each patient and visitor.
The single goal is to support people attempting to cope with healthcare needs. Our Pastoral Care staff is available 24 hours a day for the primary purpose of ministering to the needs of patients, their families and the hospital staff.
Chaplain services include:
-
Visiting patients and their families
-
Offering support and practical advice during times of crisis
-
Offering communion and chapel services
-
Providing religious literature
-
Offering cancer and grief support programs
-
Conducting weddings, funerals and worship services
-
Contacting your local pastor, priest or rabbi
It is the inclusion of the theological and religious dimension of concern that makes care-giving “pastoral.” We therefore encourage our employees and staff to join the chaplain in offering the wealth of their own spiritual resources to provide spiritual care to our patients and visitors.
The pastoral care department is ecumenical in its approach to people. While drawing upon the uniqueness of their religious heritage in interacting with people, the chaplains demonstrate sensitivity to the religious beliefs of others, and utilize both the “differences” and “sameness” in religious orientation to promote dialogue, understanding and healing.
The Metroplex Chapel is located on the first floor down the hallway from the main elevators. Visitors of all faiths are welcome to visit the chapel for worship services, prayer and meditation. The Chaplain is available by calling 254-519-8208.
Metroplex Health System would like to join with you in prayer. Please let us know how we can pray for you by submitting a Prayer Request.
