The child treatment program is designed for children ages 5 through 12.
A multidisciplinary team implements a treatment plan by working directly with the child and the child’s family.
Therapy can include:
- Coping skills
- Interacting with peers and adults in groups
- Behavior modification and
- Accepting personal limitations
Individual, group and activity therapies are used within the treatment plan, focusing on helping the child develop coping skills and behavior modification. The team meets frequently to discuss and assess the child’s situation and progress. Families are encouraged to attend these meetings.
Education is enhanced, not ignored, as the Metroplex Behavioral Health Center is a member of the Killeen Indpendent School District.
