19th Annual Spring Golf Classic Tournament: May 18, 2008

Metroplex Health System Foundation will host the 19th Annual Spring Golf Classic Tournament on Sunday, May 18, 2008. This premier fundraising event will take place at The Hills of Cove Golf Course in Copperas Cove for a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.

Approximately 168 players including avid golfers, community leaders and business sponsors will help raise funds for the new Sue Mayborn Women's Center.

Lampasas Health Fest: June 5, 2008

The annual Lampasas Health Fest will take place on Thursday, June 5, 2008 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Lampasas Middle School Cafeteria on Western Street. This is a hands-on, health-related, fun-filled activity for the entire family!

Adults can take advantage of free health screenings, including cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, osteoporosis and many more.

Kids will enjoy free balloons, face painting, snow cones, a bouncy house and a chance to meet Health E. Bear, the Metroplex Adventist Hospital mascot.

More than 30 Lampasas area health organizations will be showcasing their goods and services. Please join the fun and take the first step toward a healthier and happier lifestyle!

The event is sponsored by Rollins Brook Community Hospital.

KidFest Health & Safety Fair: August 10, 2008

The 20th annual KidFest, sponsored by Metroplex Health System, will be Sunday, August 10, 2008 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center, 3601 South W S Young Drive.

The event will offer more than $200 worth of free health screenings including vision and hearing checks, height and weight checks, scoliosis screenings and lung function tests. Metroplex Dietitians will also offer healthy snacks to children and their parents.

Activities include:
    Free immunizations (first-come, first-serve basis)
    A visit from Health E. Bear, the Metroplex Adventist Hospital mascot
    A visit from the KNCT-TV mascot
    Fire truck and ambulance tours from the Killeen Fire Department
    A LifeStar Helicopter will be on display
    Free snacks and drinks

9th Annual Fall Golf Tournament

Mark your calendars for one of the best golf tournaments in Lampasas, Texas. This 9th Annual Fall Golf Tournament is hosted by the Metroplex Health System Foundation. Players will start their game on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hancock Park Municipal Golf Course. Proceeds will benefit the Rollins Brook Community Hospital Building Fund.

14th Annual Gold Star Gala: November 6, 2008

The Gold Star Gala is hosted by the Metroplex Health System Foundation Board. This is a great social event for the community to get together for a good time and support a worthwhile cause. All proceeds will benefit the Sue Mayborn Women's Center.

Mark your calendars for this premier black-tie event of the year: Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center, 3601 South W. S. Young Drive.

This event offers first-class entertainment, gourmet dining, a raffle and live auction. This year's event will feature Micky Dolenz of The Monkees!

Healthy Living Expo: November 13, 2008

Metroplex Health System will host its first Healthy Living Expo on Thursday, November 13, 2008 from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Killeen Parks & Recreation Center, 2201 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd., at the corner of W.S. Young and Business 190. This event is free of charge and open to the public.

The expo is designed for all ages. Participants will enjoy:

• Free health screenings including cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure tests
• Diabetes Classes
• Senior and Arthritis Exercises
• Exercise Classes such as Tai Chi
• Vendors
• Pamphlets, samples and literature 
• Free refreshments

23rd Annual Silver Classic 5K Run & Walk: March 1, 2009

Metroplex will host the 23rd Annual Silver Classic 5K Run & Walk on March 1, 2009 at Metroplex Adventist Hospital in Killeen.
