KILLEEN — Phillip Day, M.D. and Michael Parisi, D.O. have been elected by Metroplex physicians to join the medical committee as Chief of Staff Elect and Secretary, respectively.
Dr. Phillip Day joined the Metroplex medical staff in 1997. Dr. Day served as Chief, Department of Pathology at Brooke Army Medical Center and Darnall Army Community Hospital prior to retiring from the military in July 1997. He graduated from Texas Tech University School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency in Combined Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii. According to current Chief of Staff Dr. Frederick Barnett, “Dr. Day has been a very active and integral part of the medical staff leadership at Metroplex Adventist Hospital over the past six years. His experience, integrity, loyalty and commitment to excellence will serve him well as the medical staff leader president. I look forward to working closely with Dr. Day over the next two years in our efforts to make our hospital and medical staff the best it can be.” Dr. Day is also a new member to the Metroplex Community Board of Directors.
New medical staff secretary Dr. Michael Parisi came to Metroplex in April 2000 and has served as Medical Director of Anesthesia Services since.
Dr. Parisi graduated from the University of Osteopathic Medicine, Des Moines, Iowa. He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesia. Prior to practicing at Metroplex, Dr. Parisi had private anesthesia practices in Kaufman and Lubbock, Texas.
“Dr. Parisi has been looking forward to becoming active in the medical staff leadership,” said Dr. Barnett. “His new role will give him a seat on the Medical Executive Committee as a voting member. Dr. Parisi's willingness to serve his medical staff, coupled with his eagerness to learn, will no doubt make him a valued addition to the committee. I look forward to working along side Dr. Parisi as we strive to lead to the best of our abilities.”
