Metroplex Health System Receives National Recognition for Setting, Meeting Exemplary Standards

KILLEEN, TX (October 23, 2009) – A hospital does not become an example of exemplary standards without setting and meeting high standard goals and working tirelessly to reach them.  Metroplex Health System, including Metroplex Adventist Hospital, Rollins Brook Community Hospital and all of their ancillary services, demonstrated this dedication to providing safe and effective healthcare of the highest quality by receiving re-accreditation from The Joint Commission.  “We work very hard at Metroplex Health System to ensure we are continually meeting the needs of our patients while exceeding their expectations,” states Stephen O’Neal, Vice President of Patient Care.  “The Joint Commission ensures we do this while meeting their high standards.”

The Joint Commission is the accreditation organization for healthcare quality measurements in the United States.  “The accreditation process is designed to help the organization continuously provide safe, high-quality care, treatment, and services by identifying opportunities for improvement in their processes and helping them follow through on and implement these improvements,” states Ann Scott Blouin, RN, Ph.D., and Executive Vice President of Accreditation and Certification Operations for The Joint Commission.

After surveying an exhaustive list of standards to be upheld by an accredited hospital, The Joint Commission granted Metroplex Adventist Hospital accreditation for adhering to the strict standards of compliance.  “Metroplex Adventist Hospital has once again shown the high quality of care our employees and physicians provide by obtaining The Joint Commission re-accreditation,” states Carlyle Walton, CEO of Metroplex Health System.  “In alignment with our mission, Metroplex Health System strives to provide the highest quality of care for all.  The Joint Commission ensures that we are constantly evolving and improving on behalf of our patients.”
