It was a beautiful day for bright new beginnings at Metroplex Adventist Hospital. Community members and Metroplex employees broke ground on the Sue Mayborn Women’s Center Friday, April 18, 2008. The new facility is set to open in Spring 2009.

The $8.2 million center is designed to accommodate women’s health needs at all stages of life. This renovation and expansion project will add new rooms, consolidate services and maximize patient and family comfort all in one convenient location.


Labor and Delivery Services

This new area will have state-of-the-art facilities, superb comfort and advanced care. It will feature:

  • Additional Labor and Delivery Suites
  • Ultrasound
  • State-of-the-art Nursery
  • Modern C-section Suites
  • Roomy and Comfortable Private Patient Rooms
  • Additional and Transport Isolets
  • Centralized Fetal Monitoring System
  • Birthing Beds and New Equipment
  • New Visitor Beds

Women’s Services

These services will offer a convenient “one-stop-shop” for women of all ages to go for tests, lab work and education. This area will include:

  • Digital Mammography
  • Ultrasound Equipment
  • Lab Equipment
  • Bone Density Testing
  • Education Area with information and classes for preventative care, early detection and intervention

Our mission is to provide complete health that includes the emotional, spiritual and physical needs of our patients. “We want to upgrade the level of service we provide,” said Ken Finch, President and CEO of Metroplex Health System. “It is exciting knowing that in the years to come, the all-inclusive Sue Mayborn Women’s Center will have an everlasting impact on the lives of women,” he added.
