The Metroplex Wellness Department’s mission is to promote healthy lifestyles for people in our community.
The Wellness Department hosts several community events to aid in keeping Central Texas residents healthy and happy.
One lifestyle most people do not consider on a day-to-day basis is staying up-to-date on school immunizations.
The Wellness team hosts free monthly clinics in conjunction with Texas Vaccines for Children. The clinics are first-come, first-served and based on financial need. Those with Medicaid, who have no insurance or are underinsured, qualify for free immunizations. An eligibility form is required at each clinic. All clinics are available to all students – all you need is your child’s shot record or a letter from the school.
- Held monthly during the school year
- Free for low income, uninsured or underinsured families
- Bring shot record or letter from school nurse
FREE immunizations are available to those who qualify. For more information on Metroplex Wellness, please call 254-519-8202.
Quarterly health screenings are held at both Metroplex Adventist Hospital and Rollins Brook Community Hospital. Receive your results before you leave: Height, Weight, BMI, blood glucose, blood pressure, LDL/HDL/triglyceride breakdown, and total cholesterol reading. In addition, the wellness team travels to several locations throughout Central Texas each moth to administer low or no-cost screenings to the community. For information on where the next health screening will be held, call 254-519-8202.
